The Gibson Falcon 5 1×10 Combo Amplifier pays respect to Gibson’s legendary past as a pioneer in the world of electric guitar amps. This combo is a modern reinterpretation of the iconic Gibson Falcon amps from the 1960s, designed by Randall Smith and the MESA/Boogie Design Team.

Originally made in 1961 and discontinued shortly after, this new Falcon 5 features a reimagined construction and major upgrades, drawing from Randall Smith’s five decades of tube amp design experience. This 1×10 combo boasts a single-channel design focused on delivering great tone, and simple-to-use controls. The amp’s signal path consists of a Volume, Tone, and areverb- which is not footswitchable- a stark difference between this amp and its big sibling, the

Gibson Falcon 20 1×12.

The Falcon 5 emphasizes power amp overdrive, ideal for achieving cranked power amp sound without too much volume. Stocked with a 10 Jensen Blackbird Alnico speaker, vintage power-amp overdrive defines the sound of this amp, complementing the amp’s Class A power section.

The Falcon 5 offers three power modes Full and Low (7 or 3-Watt) through its Multi-Watt technology. Players are also able to choose from 8 or 4-Watts with optional 6L6 Power Tubes. This power flexibility allows transitions in and out of clipping, making the Falcon 20 a suitable “headroom to bedroom” style amp.

For convenience, the Falcon 5 includes a Monitor (Slave) DI Output attenuated from the Speaker Output, allowing for connectivity. Its polished stainless steel control faceplate, aluminum chassis, and included 2-button footswitch and slipcover underscore the amp’s high-end performance and boutique construction.
