The Browne Amplification Carbon X Dual Overdrive Effect Pedal is a collaboration between Browne and acclaimed guitarist David Ryan Harris, born from a simple question: “Can this be done?”

The Carbon X is a fusion of two of the legendary blue side found in Browne’s Protein Drive, in one pedal. Its enhanced design features a right side stripped of some of its sheen and headroom that unleashes a grittier, raw essence, and a left side with a high cut, so the top end is tamed with surgical precision. The result is a pedal that not only embraces the spirit of the original Bluesbreaker but enhances it, delivering a gorgeous sounding take on a classic overdrive.

Throughout the development process, several prototypes of the Carbon X were sent to David Ryan Harris for feedback and testing, resulting in a refined Bluesbreaker circuit that meets his standards.
